Will come up with something that will go in this section. Until then, I just want to say that we’re earth tourists.
Kana Ogawa is a Hawai’i-based creative from Chiba, Japan. Ogawa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa in 2017. Since then she has been included in exhibitions including, Hawaiʻi Pacific University, Honolulu Museum of Art School, and Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design.
Ogawa’s work explores the merging of perspectives through the lens of a third culture kid — navigating identity, belonging, and the quiet spaces in between. Her practice is rooted in vulnerability, drawing from personal and cultural intersections to question how we form and reform ourselves over time.
As her exploration of identity deepened, so did her journey into spirituality — expanding her focus toward transformation, repair, and renewal. Periods of retreat in a secluded valley, devoted to solitude and contemplation, allowed her to turn inward and study the non-physical landscape with the same sensitivity she brings to material form.
In her ceramic practice, Kintsugi honors the history of a vessel — acknowledging that what was once fractured carries its own story. The break is not erased, but illuminated.
Her hypnotherapy sessions extend this philosophy inward. Through guided awareness, emotional wounds are gently integrated rather than hidden. What may once have felt like damage becomes part of the whole — transformed, like gold in the seam.
